Consultant Laparoscopic and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon

Anupam Dixit is a consultant and specialist laparoscopic surgeon. He works privately at hospitals in London and Sussex. His NHS Consultant post is at the Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Worthing.

Mr Dixit sees private patients at Goring Hall Hospital, Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital and The London Independent Hospital.

Mr Dixit undertook training in General Surgery in India, London and Surrey following which he undertook specialised laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery training  (weight loss surgery) at Homerton Hospital in London and Brugge (Belgium) as well.

Mr Dixit has expertise in advanced laparoscopic ‘keyhole’ surgery.  His specialist interests include the treatment of hernias, gallstone disease, gastro-oesophageal (acid) reflux and obesity.

Anupam has worked as a consultant Bariatric surgeon at Homerton Hospital in London for an year before being appointed as a Consultant General Surgeon in September 2017 at Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and has to date, undertaken over 600 laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedures for gallstones and  approximately 300 weight loss procedures in years as a Consultant Surgeon.

He has also undertaken over 500 inguinal hernia repairs as well as over 100 complex incisional hernias, 60-70% of which completed laparoscopically.

Mr Dixit provides a one stop, seamless service for all patients who are referred suffering from ailments within his field including all types of Hernias, Gallstones, Weight loss, Pancreatitis, and acid reflux.

Mr Dixit is also proud to be part of national healthcare providers ‘Alliance Surgical plc’.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and holds a Masters in General Surgery.  He is a member of the British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) and the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS).
